Family First Solar Mission
Family First Solar has been installing solar panels in Hawai’i since 2002. At the forefront of solar, we’ve seen how solar can free homeowners from the ever-increasing rates of utility bills for the past two decades. Our mission is to help homeowners break free from the utility company and become energy self-sufficient, all the while reducing their environmental footprint by using renewable energy. We love our beautiful state and believe that using renewable energy can help us keep it that way. And, we’re passionate about providing our clients with custom solutions to eliminate their utility bill altogether.
Our History
Family First Solar was founded by Kevin Medeiros in 2002, who worked in other solar companies from a young age. With his background in construction and management, he founded Family First Solar and started installing solar panels on homes throughout Hawai’i. Since the beginning, the team has grown, but the mission remains the same—help as many homeowners become energy self-sufficient as possible.
Meet the Founder | Kevin Medeiros
Kevin Medeiros was born and raised in Hawai’i and, from a young age, wanted to run his own solar company. After working and managing other solar companies, and starting his own construction business, starting a solar installation company became an obvious choice.
The name “Family First” was inspired but the fact that Kevin was born and raised in Hawai’i on the island of Oahu with seven siblings. His upbringing was about family, tradition, love, and helping others. These values have endured and help Kevin lead his businesses. Kevin loves spending time with his wife and five kids, as well as exercising, hiking, and spearfishing.
